2010 MCDC NOMINATING CONVENTION

The Montgomery County Democratic Committee will meet on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at the Colonial Elementary School in Plymouth Meeting to endorse Democratic candidates running for office in this year’s primary election.  Guests are welcome to observe.

This will be a very important year for Democrats in Montgomery County with many very competitive and winnable seats. Therefore, it is imperative that all committeepersons attend.

Those eligible to vote must be official members of the Montgomery County Democratic Committee, either duly elected or appointed by the County Chairman and registered with the Board of Elections. To obtain voting credentials at the convention, committee persons must present a picture ID if asked.

Proxies are allowed under guidelines established by the county by-laws. These are the rules governing proxies:

• Person carrying proxy must be registered to vote in the same precinct as the absent committeeperson, and must not be a member of the County Committee. (Rule 21.1)
• Person carrying proxy must carry a picture ID. (Rule 22)
• Proxy must be written in ink and witnessed. Notarization is not required. The proper form is provided on the reverse side. (Rule 21.5)
