We are pleased to announce that our own State Representative Mike Gerber (148^th District) has just been named the "Best of Philly Politician--'Burbs" by Philadelphia Magazine in its August edition.

Gerber’s successes include ushering into law Pennsylvania's first-ever alternative fuels statute and he was the lead champion in the State House for Pennsylvania's statewide smoking ban.

Recently, Gerber and his staff have been hard at work contributing to the ongoing budget debate, with a focus on caring for the most needy and vulnerable members our communities, maintaining funding for education, the arts and libraries, and protecting families in this tough economy by keeping taxes low. Gerber is also advancing his Healthy Schools legislation, which would require schools to provide healthy food choices to our kids, and pushing his False Claims bill, legislation aimed at reducing fraud that drains taxpayer money.

This work, along with other legislative accomplishments and his leadership on regional issues, caught the magazine's attention and led to his "Best of Philly" recognition.
