Dear Fellow Democrats,
In 2023, voters in Montgomery County will elect one individual to serve as Judge on the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas. As you know two years ago, Democrats elected A. Nicole Phillips, and this year we look forward to working together to elect a qualified candidate to join the dozen Democrats that now sit on the county bench.
As such, the Montgomery County Democratic Committee will endorse one candidate for judge, and we are inviting any interested Democrat to submit their name for consideration by January 16th at 5pm. To be eligible for consideration, a person must be a US Citizen, a registered Democrat in Montgomery County and a member of the Bar of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.
If you are interested in seeking endorsement for the position of Court of Common Pleas Judge from the Montgomery County Democratic Committee, please submit a completed application (which can be accessed here), a resume that includes your professional qualifications, a copy of the application and all related materials submitted to the Montgomery County Bar Association, and any other supporting materials you feel are appropriate for the Committee’s consideration. The application is to be submitted to Chris Thomas, Executive Director, at christhomas@mcdems.org or by fax to MCDC 610-272-2005. The application deadline is January 16 at 5pm, after which you may be contacted to schedule an interview with our Screening Committee. The Screening Committee will submit its recommended endorsements to the Executive Committee, which is expected to act on the recommendation at its February 9th Meeting, and ultimately recommend one candidate to the full committee for endorsement at the February 16th MCDC Endorsement Convention.
If you have any questions, please contact Chris Thomas at MCDC, 610-272-2000 or by email at christhomas@mcdems.org.
Sincerely,
Jason Salus,
Chair
